What Magic Of Rose Oil In Aromatherapy

What Magic Of Rose Oil In Aromatherapy

Rose oil is one of the most sought after botanicals in both aromatherapy and perfumery. It’s amazing aroma has a wealth of health benefits, both physiological and psychological - it's no wonder the rose is history's most revered flower.

Ah, Wonderful Rose Oil

If there's an aroma that more individuals find deeply moving than any other, it is the oil of rose. The scent is divinely sweet, rich, and deeply floral - exclusive to the extract of history's most revered flower. Though the rose is renowned for its fragrance, the flower actually contains very little aromatic oil by weight. Some 60,000 roses are needed to distill a single ounce of oil, or about 60 roses PER DROP, a fact that brings the seemly high cost of rose oil into perspective.

The Flower of Love

The hardy nature of the thorny rose bush and the flower's magnificent beauty make it a horticulturalist's dream. The genus Rosa has some 150 species spread around the globe, being cultivated in your grandmother's backyard garden, in vast fields in Bulgaria's Valley of Roses, and everywhere in between. Roses have somewhat of a unique past, peppered with interesting stories and extravagant displays of affection. The flower's association with devotion was perhaps most wonderfully expressed during the Roman Empire, with banquet halls being carpeted with petals. Cleopatra once received her beloved Marc Antony in a room literally knee-deep in rose petals – how's that for a greeting? Roses are the unrivaled symbol of love, given dear ones through the ages as an affirmation of true affection. It's no wonder the flower's oil has great healing properties, both physically and emotionally, for the human heart.

Health Benefits of a rose

With its considerable therapeutic and aesthetic value, the 'queen of the flowers' had a special place in medicine and perfumery in the ancient civilizations of Persia, Egypt, India, Greece and Rome. The modern healing tradition of the extract of rose began in the 17 th century with the writings of English physician Nicholas Culpeper. The herbalist described the use of red roses to strengthen the heart; it's cooling and astringent actions, and its effect on headaches and tired eyes. Perhaps inspiring its use as a beauty tonic 'par-excellence', he went on to suggest its use as a remedy for a variety of skin complaints.

In aromatherapy, the psychological effects are wondrous for those with a broken heart, or other emotional wounds. Rose oil calms and supports the heart center, inspiring a sense of happiness and well-being. When rejection or loss has injured one's ability to love and nurture, either themselves or those around them, rose oil can bring sweet and gentle comfort and allow an emotional 're-opening'.

Use in Aromatherapy

It is the Bulgarian Damask rose, or Rosa Damascene, most often used in aromatherapy. The oil of this 36-petaled beauty is available in two forms: the 'Otto', or true essential oil, and the 'absolute'. Harvest of the flowers occurs in the early morning, before the sun's rays has warmed away the aroma. Rose Otto is made in a two step steam-distillation process; the first distillation yields an essential oil and a large amount of 'rose water'. The water is again distilled, producing an oil which is combined with that from the first distillation.

The absolute is made with a different process entirely. Similar in a way to 'effleurage' (the pressing of petals in fat to produce an extract), the flowers are processed in a solvent, with a wax-like 'concrete' being produced. Through a second extraction of the concrete, rose absolute is yielded. This method is significantly more efficient than steam distillation, producing nearly 7 pounds of oil per 10,000 pounds of roses (distillation yields 1 pound oil per 10,000 pounds of roses), with a corresponding lower cost. Does one produce better oil? There is certainly a debate; while some argue that traces of solvent are likely to exist in the absolute, others claim the heat of distillation does not result in a true representation of the flower. And as with either method, the quality and effect of the oil varies greatly with the experience and care of the manufacturer – the answer truly lies with the individual and the application.

Using Rose

Oil of rose can be utilized in a number of ways; it is very gentle, being suitable for use on the skin 'neat', in massage oil, and in a bath, as well as in a diffuser. As a perfume, the absolute can be worn directly on the skin – it's 'tenacious' quality will have the aroma slowly released for many hours. For therapeutic use for the emotions, a dilution of 10% of Otto or absolute in jojoba oil is often used, being massaged into the heart area – a diffuser is very effective for this purpose as well. The absolute or Otto can also be added in small amounts to any skin cream; though using a home-made natural recipe is often the nicest. Rose water, or hydrosol, the water resulting from the distillation process of rose Otto, can also be used directly on the skin, with its mild astringent and toning properties.
A rose and lavender facial cream can be made using the following recipe:

Melt ½ ounce of beeswax in 4 ounces of jojoba using a double boiler. Add 3 ounces of distilled water in a thin stream while stirring vigorously with a wire whisk. Remove from heat and continue stirring while adding 20 drops of rose oil (absolute or Otto) and 15 drops of lavender. Allow to cool, and then enjoy this wonderful homemade cream for sensitive skin.

There are, of course, many ways to enjoy rose oil's benefits. It is revered on many levels, from its pure aesthetic aromatic beauty, to its physiological healing and emotional uplifting. True rose oil, with its great depth and sweetness, is easily appreciated by almost all who experience this natural wonder.

12 Useful Facts About Diabetes And Lifestyle

12 Useful Facts About Diabetes And Lifestyle

Here’s a quick look guide to aid a busy lifestyle and coping with diabetes. I hope you find these facts about diabetes interesting and useful.

1. Put a positive, motivating message on your computer screen saver such as “Get your 5-A-Day.” It will remind you to eat at least the recommended five servings of fruits and veggies.

2. Plan your shopping list with the Food Guide Pyramid in mind. Think about buying foods in proportion to the Pyramid. Stick to the outside of the store for most foods you buy.

3. Try a sweet cereal for your evening treat. It will satisfy your sweet tooth and provide the added bonus of much needed calcium if you eat it with milk or mixed into yogurt.

4. Try naturally flavored seltzer waters in place of sodas. Zero calories with all the fizz. (They taste okay when the ice melts too.)

5. Make it your goal to walk to the store, the bank, bus or train—or anywhere else reasonably close where you might have driven in the past. You'll feel better and save money on gas.

6. Bring out the crockpot for plenty of high-fiber, low-fat and easy dishes. Try veggie chili loaded with beans, soups made with low-fat broths and veggies, rice and bean stews and others.

7. Be a restaurant boss. Remember, you control how a dish is prepared, served and how much of it you eat. Ask to have your dish baked, broiled or poached, request substitutions to be picky. Most restaurants do want to satisfy their customers.

8. Check out your local park district's recreational offerings. Most cities and towns offer convenient, cheap and supervised activities for beginners and experts. If not, design your own walking, biking or swimming regimens at the local park with a friend!

9. Create a dessert slush fund. Bypass rich desserts and treats at the market, coffee shop or bakery and pocket the money you might have spent on these foods. Save up for something you really enjoy, like going to the movies, getting a facial, buying new
clothes or other non - edible treats.

10. Be colorful. Make it a point to eat colorful fruits and veggies with every meal. Your plate will be interesting to the eye, and you can expand your taste horizons without expanding your waist.

11. Plan to plan. Have several healthful meal options available at all times. It's when you say, “What am I going to eat now, there's nothing in the house?” that you're most likely to make quick, and often less-healthful, food choices.

12. Take a class on eating well or low-fat cooking. Most local school, park and junior college districts offer adult continuing education classes on eating and cooking. Gain the support of others interested in eating well in your community and learn to
prepare lower-fat meals.

We all need a trick up our sleeve now and then, I hope you found some, or all of these facts about diabetes useful.

Diabetes Information: Understanding Diabetes Mellitus As A Serious And Common Disease

Diabetes Information: Understanding Diabetes Mellitus As A Serious And Common Disease

When we hear a physician diagnose someone as having diabetes (without any limiting modification), he is, in all probability, referring to 'diabetes mellitus.' This condition is characterized by superfluities of glucose in the blood and urine resulting from an abnormal carbohydrate metabolism.

Diabetes mellitus is a serious and common disease. In the United States, medical records show that it occurs in about two percent of males and close to five percent of females. Its onset is possible at any stage of life. In most cases, diabetes mellitus manifests itself after some serious infection or injury.

It may also become evident due to emotional strain. Persons who are overweight are known to suffer from this disease more than those who are within the normal weight range.

Symptoms of diabetes mellitus are almost the same for cases that commence during childhood and during the adult years. These include an excessive production of urine, an ardent desire for liquids, a feeling of weakness, and itchy skin.

A medical examination of a person who has diabetes mellitus will reveal the presence of glucose in the blood in an amount that is much higher than the normal volume. This excess blood sugar is caused by the inability of the body to use up glucose as quickly as it is stored and released by the liver.

Consequently, rather than being utilized for energy production, glucose that builds up in the blood gets washed off along with the urine.

Certain secondary conditions are likely to develop if diabetes mellitus remains untreated. One such serious complication is kidney disease. The loss of bladder control - resulting in the urge to urinate frequently - is also possible.

Likewise, the skin and other body tissues become more prone to infections. In more serious cases, losing consciousness is almost always a certainty.

A lot of medical experts point to diet as probably the most vital factor in the successful handling of diabetes mellitus. A person with this disease can enjoy a normal diet, taking care that he or she neither eats to excess nor consumes too little of the needed nutrients.

Controlling the blood-sugar level by means of administering insulin is another important factor in the treatment of diabetes mellitus. For the millions of diabetics out there, wouldn't it be a great relief for you to know that there is actually a sure way to banish your particular case of diabetes mellitus for good?

Type 2 Diabetes Diet, Diet For Diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes Diet, Diet For Diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes is prevalent in the world today. With Type 2 Diabetes, the body either cannot produce enough insulin or the cells do not recognize it in the blood. Absorbing insulin is critical to the body. Without it the body cannot convert glucose into energy that it needs to function. Glucose is the sugar that food produces and when the body breaks down for energy.

When glucose cannot be broken down and absorbed, your blood cells will not get the energy that they need to keep your body going. This in turn can lead to serious and life threatening conditions such as blindness, kidney damage and heart complications.

Since both type 1 and type 2 diabetes are major health issues it is important to consult you doctor before starting any new diet or exercise plan. Your doctor can get you started in the right direction and recommend a dietician who specializes in the type 2 diabetic diet.

The dietician can help taylor a customized diabetic meal plan to your specific needs. There will be foods that are for the most part off limits but in most cases moderation is the key to combating this disease and the health issues it is directly responsible for.

Once again, a big part losing weight for those with Type 2 diabetes it to cut down on sugar. It is particularly important to make sure their sugar level does not rise rapidly, and then decrease rapidly.

It is recommended that they also eat smaller meals, but more often, rather than having three large meals a day. If you also want to see how you are doing for the first part of your diet, try keeping a journal. Record exactly what you eat, and how many calories it contained approximately.

If you are overweight, it is important to lose the excess weight, however it is critical that you do it in an all-natural way. Do not take dietary supplements or start a diet without consulting your physician first. Diabetics who are overweight double their risk of getting heart disease.

They also have a higher risk of high cholesterol and blood pressure, which can also lead to heart disease. A nutritionist can create the perfect dietary plan that will taste great and assist you in losing the weight that you need.

When you were first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, or pre-diabetes, you heard that magic word, diet. You were told by your health care provider you needed to follow a whole new eating plan!

Now I appreciate that was not want you wanted to hear. If you are overweight, you don’t have time to lose. Here is what you need to know now: any diet that helps you take in fewer calories than you are used to taking in will help you lose weight, whether it is high or low in carbohydrates, fat or protein.

Different Ways To Treat Diabetes

Different Ways To Treat Diabetes

What is sad about people who are suffering from diabetes is that many of them remain undiagnosed mainly because of lack of knowledge on the disease and lack of resources to even visit a doctor and know their real condition. In fact, more often than not, "diabetics" or the people who are suffering from diabetes only know about their condition once their bodies exhibit signs and symptoms that can no longer be ignored. These include extreme blurring of vision, excruciating pains especially in the legs, and cuts or sores that takes time to heal and worse, wounds that don't heal at all and needs to cut to avoid other affected cells from spreading to other parts of the body.

Treatment and medical options

Since diabetes is a chronic disease, people who are suffering from it should be more vigilant about their health more than ever. It means that they should visit their doctors more often, maintain a healthy lifestyle and take the necessary medications or undergo needed treatments for them to stay healthy.

Before taking in any medication or undergoing a specific treatment, it is a must that person knows what type of diabetes he or she is suffering from. Basically, there are three types of diabetes: type 1 diabetes wherein the person's body doesn't have the capability to produce insulin, which is crucial for sugar to turn the food into energy; the type 2 diabetes-the most common type-restricts the person's pancreas to produce enough supply insulin for the body to use well; and the gestational diabetes which occurs among pregnant women and can lead to type 2 diabetes eventually if not monitored immediately.

Experts say that people with diabetes should aim for healthy diet and getting regular exercise to control the illness. At times, there will be the need to take in some medications or undergo treatments. The following are just some of the common medications advised for people with diabetes:

1. Insulin shots. Since insufficient insulin levels in the body cause diabetes, insulin itself can solve the problem. For diabetics, insulin is very important because it lowers the blood sugar in the body by moving the sugar from the person's blood into the cells. Insulin should be taken at least two times daily to ensure that there will be stable blood sugar control. It should be taken at least 30 minutes before each meal or should be taken before one eats especially if she or he takes a fast effecting type.

2. Oral medications. People with type 1 diabetes are not advised to use oral medications since insulin shots are injected in their bodies 24/7 in order to survive. Oral medications work best to people with type 2 diabetes-especially those who have high blood sugar-because these can serve as a supplement for them. The most common oral medications include sulfonylureas which forces the pancreas to produce more insulin to lower the blood sugar levels; siguanides which helps achieve lower blood sugar by stopping the liver in producing too much sugar; metformin which helps the person lose weight which is the common cause of diabetes; thiazolidinediones which helps the cells develop higher sensitivity to insulin which moves the glucose from the blood; and meglitinides which is responsible for helping the pancreas produce more insulin immediately after each meal to effectively lower blood sugar levels.

How To Improve Weight Loss By Eating Carbs

How To Improve Weight Loss By Eating Carb

As the pros and cons of carbohydrates continue to be debated in the popular press, a new twist has emerged. Resistant starch is a type of carbohydrate said to accelerate weight loss. Weight-loss coach Cameron Mackay shows you how it works, and how to get more in your diet.

What is resistant starch?

Most fibers and starches are digested and absorbed into your body through the small intestine. Resistant starch is a unique type of fiber found in some carbohydrate foods that your body finds hard to digest. Because it “resists” digestion, it arrives whole in your large intestine. Once there, bacteria ferment it, producing fatty acids that are absorbed into your bloodstream — it’s these unique fatty acids that have some interesting weight-loss properties.

How does resistant starch help you lose weight?
A study published in the journal Nutrition & Metabolism in 2004 showed resistant starch can increase fat oxidation significantly, helping to change the way the body burns fat as fuel.

One specific fatty acid produced from resistant starch fermentation — called butyrate — is thought to block the body’s ability to burn carbohydrates. Usually carbohydrates are used first for fuel, but when butyrate is present, stored body fat and recently consumed dietary fat are used earlier as an energy source.

Researchers found that replacing just 5.4 percent of carbohydrates with resistant starch increased fat burning (the use of fat as fuel instead of carbohydrates) by 23 percent. Resistant starch in a meal is associated with less fat storage after that meal, and over the long term, that could help to significantly reduce the storage of body fat.

An earlier study, published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition in 1996, showed that when normal flour is replaced with a flour alternative that is high in resistant starch, the kilojoule content of that food is reduced. This is another way that resistant starch can contribute to weight management and weight loss.

Are there any extra health benefits?
In addition to weight control, resistant starch is thought to provide other health benefits, including:

* improved diabetes management;
* improved bowel health;
* reduced blood cholesterol levels;
* reduced blood triglyceride levels; and
* increased satiety (fullness) from food.

What foods are high in resistant starch?

There are actually several varieties of resistant starch, although they all have a very similar function. One of the best sources of resistant starch is called Hi-Maize, which comes from a special breed of corn. It’s used as a food additive in breads, pasta and breakfast cereals without altering the taste, color or texture of the food. You can also buy it at health food shops and use it instead of flour. Other sources of resistant starch include:

* intact wholegrain cereals, seeds and nuts, such as oats, rye, wheat, barley, semolina, corn, linseed, sesame;
* legumes such as lentils and baked beans are a very good source of resistant starch;
* unripe fruit, especially bananas; and
* cooking and cooling carbohydrate foods can also increase their resistant starch content, such as cold rice (sushi), cold pasta salad and potato salad.

How To Improve Each Facet Your Golf Game

How To Improve Each Facet Your Golf Game

The game of golf is composed of many facets. This article discusses each facet of the golf game and what you can do to improve each of these areas of your game.

If you give some thought to it, golf should not be that difficult of a game. What is the difference between golf and the world's other dominant sports? If we consider football, soccer, baseball, and basketball, what is the status of the ball when you are playing the sport?

Yes, the ball is moving.

In golf, the little golf ball remains in its place, completely devoid of movement. Why, then, is it so difficult to hit a ball that is not even moving? In fact, many beginning golfers cannot even hit the ball. You have seen this, haven't you? The new golfer, confident with their new set of clubs and fancy golf apparel, addresses the ball, takes their swing, and...misses the ball completely. This simple ball, that is just remaining there in one place, immobile.

So, the first thing that a golfer needs to concentrate on are the mechanics of the golf swing. New golfers just want to make contact with the golf ball while more experienced golfers are always seeking to improve their golf swing. If you watch the professionals on television, they have one consistent swing that they use repeatedly. At the driving range, you will see amateurs swing different with each pass at the ball. To have a solid, consistent golf swing, view one of the many "how to swing a golf club" videos that are available.

Once you have mastered the mechanics of the golf swing, and practiced at the range, you should be able to make your way around the golf course. Now, you will want to investigate the variations that come with each club.

Several professional golfers, like John Daly, have made themselves famous by hitting famously long drives. The first mistake of novice golfers is trying to hit the ball too hard by swinging too fast and out of control. You want to use the solid swing mechanics that you have learned in your tee shot while adjusting your stance and movement to the longer length of the driver.

Your second shot on a Par 4 will likely be an iron shot. Again, the fundamentals of the swing remain the same though each club will be a slightly different length. Your body will be slightly closer to the ball and you will want to position the ball a little bit further back in your stance.

Remember, all variations in golf are minute. They are not extreme. If you move the ball just fractions of an inch, the results are going to be dramatically different. And the swing always remains the same.

You will often see the "old gang" at the golf course beat the younger crowd who hits the ball much further. You would never guess this watching from afar because the younger people hit it so much further and look healthier and stronger. Why is this?

It is because the key to great scoring in golf is mastery of the short game. Older players always seem to know this while it takes novice golfers a long time to learn. You will always see new golfers at the driving range trying to hit the ball harder and further. More often, what they should be doing is learning how to putt and how to hit wedge shots.

Finally, we have golf's other game--the mental game. You will often hear people say that 90% of golf takes place "between the ears." What does this mean? Well, in part it means that you should take time out between shots and consider your golf.

Let's think of an example. At the driving range, you see people hit ball after ball every 15 seconds. Do you do this on the golf course? Often, their swing looks different every shot with more frustration in each shot. They are practicing, yes, but are they getting better? As the golf adage goes, practice does not make perfect, practice makes permanent. In these instances, the best course of action is to stop swinging and start thinking.

If you step back and think about these facets of the golf game, you will become a much better golfer, shoot lower scores, and have much more fun on the golf course.

Acne Medicine-top New Developments

Acne Medicine-top New Developments

Acne medicine is developing as fast as the understanding of what causes acne and how best to treat the causes. The unfortunate truth about acne is that the treatment in the past has usually not been as effective as it could have been because it was not treating the underlying true cause of the condition. For example, eliminating chocolate and cheese from the diet doesn't stop the outbreaks of acne. However, smart nutritional habits are good for your skin health and the overall health of those with acne and those who are acne free as well.

Hormonal Therapy

Fluctuating hormone levels have been found to be a significant factor in the severity of acne formation on the skin, particularly when it is adult acne. This is found quite commonly as a cause of acne in adult females from ages 25 to 35. Acne medicine prescribed with the purpose of inhibiting the stimulation of androgens on the sebaceous glands. Unfortunately, not all acne specialists are familiar with this type of remedy. It requires oral medication and monitoring by blood tests. However, if other treatment isn't working well, you may want to consider pursuing this treatment modality. Even some severe cases have shown surprising results after hormone treatment.

Light Treatment

Light treatment is a nontraditional acne medicine that has become popular in recent years. It is also known as blue light. This is a treatment using high intensity lights that acts in a similar manner to ultraviolet light when it is used in a water purification system. The bacteria population on the skin is bathed in blue light in a series of treatment sessions. This results in a reduction of the number of bacteria. The practice of using UV lights has been discontinued because of its tendency to damage the skin.

Topical Remedies

Dapsone is a typical prescription that is commonly accepted as an effective treatment for severe or inflammatory acne. In addition, the sulfone derivative is effective in treating acne and other skin disorders. The topical form of the antibacterial agent is now used in the treatment of acne blemishes that fall in the range of moderate to mild lesions from acne. The purpose of acne medicine in the topical form is to reduce the number of bacteria found on the skin. Other antibiotics and topical remedies have the purpose of soothing and healing the skin.

Treating Cystic Acne

Acne medicine focused on the treatment for cystic acne is caused by clogged oil ducts. The clogged ducts typically become infected. Common medications are focused on eliminating or at least reducing the bacteria that is common to the skin. Any treatment must be based on reduction of bacteria, slowing or stopping the production of oil through destruction of the glands or controlling the hormone production. The third major component of treating cystic acne is to provide for cleansing of the skin so that new outbreaks are reduced or eliminated. This threefold approach eliminates most of the causative factors for the condition.

Swine Flu - What Should I Do

Swine Flu - What Should I Do

A new strain of flu called the "swine flu" is creating an international stir and is putting health monitoring agencies and doctors throughout the World on extreme high alert. This new mutant virus has the potential to become an international pandemic and can kill otherwise healthy adults - not just the young, weak or infirm. The spread of this potentially deadly new strain of flu is of great concern to the health community because it has popped up in the USA and Mexico and has potentially spread undetected so far to many other areas. The swine flu has already caused the death of scores of people in Mexico and many more people are being infected daily worldwide, including in the USA. An immunization for the swine flu is not widely available and it may be too late to produce enough to halt the rapid spread of this potentially deadly disease. If you develop any of the following flu symptoms you should consult your doctor.

I feel horrible! - do I have the flu or is it just a common cold? This question is usually the 1st one that comes to my mind when I get that lousy-all-over-feeling that lets me know I've caught a winter season bug. Some of the symptoms of all strains of the flu (influenza), including the potentially deadly "swine flu", are very similar to those common to the common cold, however, there are some flu symptoms that are not. Here are 8 symptoms that are common to the flu. These tips may help you determine whether you have the flu and a proper course of action if you do. If you suspect you have the flu and not just a common cold, see your doctor within 48 hours if possible. He may be able to prescribe medications that will help lessen the severity of your symptoms. After 48 hours the available antiviral medications are much less effective.

1.) Fever of 100.4 F (38C) or higher. Fever is rare if you only have a cold but fever over 100.4 F for 3-4 days is common in up to 80% of flu cases.
2.) Muscle aches that are widespread throughout the body. Muscle aches are not common with a cold and if they do occur are normally slight.
3.) Very tired or exhausted feeling. The degree of tiredness is usually much more pronounced with the flu than with a common cold.
4.) Headaches are common with the flu but fairly uncommon with a cold.
5.) Chills are common with the flu but are uncommon with a cold.
6.) Sore throats are common with both the flu and a cold.
7.) Stuffy or runny nose. These are common with both the flu and a cold but are more common with children who have the flu than with adults with the flu.
8.) Stomach problems such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are sometimes associated with the flu - a more common symptom with children - but uncommon with a cold.

If you have any of the symptoms commonly associated with the flu, you should see your doctor ASAP - remember , as stated above, if within 48 hours of the onset of flu symptoms he may be able to treat you with antiviral medications that may reduce the severity of your symptoms and shorten their duration. After 48 hours the effectiveness of antiviral medications is substantially reduced.

Here are a few other suggestions that may help get you through the misery of having the flu: 1) Get enough sleep - not only will sleep help your body recover more quickly from the flu but when you are asleep you are not suffering 2) take over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol or Advil or other brands of ibuprofen or acetaminophen 3) keep your room warm (but not hot) 4) monitor your fever 5) avoid contact with others(except your doctor)until you are well 6) do not continue working or strenuous daily activities until you are well. Prevention is better. To prevent the flu: Ask your doctor if he recommends that you get a flu shot each year before the flu season begins. Certainly you should see you doctor immediately if you suspect you already have the flu. The flu can be serious and the swine flu is potentially fatal is serious and early detection is important. If you are living in a geographic area where the swine flu has been detected you should not hesitate to advise your doctor of your symptoms immediately.

Fuelling The Future With Alternative Energy

Fuelling The Future With Alternative Energy

The current dominant conventional fuels that are used include fossil fuels, petroleum, uranium, coal and propane. There has been growing concern about these conventional fuels, thus leading to the increasing demand for, and interest in alternative fuels.

People in general are becoming acutely aware of the degradation of the earth and that they have to make drastic changes in order to keep our world from being destroyed. The effects of conventional fuels such as fossils fuels are known to contribute to global warming, and the emission of harmful gasses into the air from petrol driven vehicles is having a severe effect on air pollution. Aside from this, the ever rising cost of fuel and concerns about the demand for fuel exceeded its supply, are mitigating factors for the need for alternative fuels.

The Pros of Alternative Fuels

Alternative fuels such as bio-diesel, bio-alcohol, fuel cells, hydrogen, non-fossil methane, non-fossil natural gas and vegetable oil are now well known and deemed to be greatly more desirable in the quest to preserve our planet. There are a number of benefits to using alternative fuels. Firstly, alternative fuel-powered vehicles will emit less harmful gasses into the air resulting in less pollution. Biodiesel is also completely renewable as its primary source is vegetable oil. So there is no need to throw out used oil as it can be collected and refined. Secondly, these fuels can also prolong the engine life of your vehicle and are generally cheaper than conventional fuels. Thirdly, they burn more efficiently and will therefore help you save money. In addition to this, using alternative fuels will also help countries to end their dependency on foreign oil. It’s common knowledge that this relationship between countries has led to war and unrest. By countries manufacturing their own alternatives fuels, we can hope for less of this violence and more independence.

The Cons of Alternative Fuels

Although alternative fuels are becoming more and more popular, they are not yet perfected. Alternative fuel vehicles are substantially more expensive than conventional fuel vehicles and at the moment it seems that only the more affluent members of our society can afford these ECO friendly cars. Alternative fuels are also not readily available and often finding a gas station to fill your alternative fuel car can be quite a feat. As this technology is new, there are also few places that can service these cars.

I don’t doubt that we are still in for many years of debate on the benefits and drawbacks of Alternative Fuels. The most important issue however, has to be conserving the world we live in. We know that the daily use of conventional fuel is contributing to destroying our planet and I’m sure that everyone would gladly consider an alternative to that.

Vitamins In High Blood Pressure (hbp), Hypertesnsion

Vitamins In High Blood Pressure (hbp), Hypertesnsion

Along with many other ingredients that are used in food the role of vitamins in reducing high blood pressure is also vital. There a lot of minerals that help to reduce the pressure of blood within our body. Like sodium chloride i.e. common salt is a misunderstood item and it is often thought that it increases blood pressure. But there is dietary limit to how much salt a person with high blood pressure must consume and if it is kept in check strictly then he would not need to panic or to discard salt permanently from his food items. After all the body needs sodium chloride biologically, and so it is a necessary mineral.

It is considered nowadays that the vitamin C has major role to play in reducing the blood pressure of the body. Many studies have been conducted to try and figure out the exact role of this vitamin when it comes to blood pressure and cardiovascular conditions. It has been proved from these studies that the blood pressure of a person is likely to be higher if he takes less vitamin C than he needs. Scientists have shown that a minimum amount of vitamin C is to be consumed by everyone in order to keep the blood pressure normal. In a person suffering from hypertension or high blood pressure this amount is all the more important for it will help control his blood pressure

If a person takes more than 240 milligrams of vitamin C every day than he will have a much lesser chance of having high blood pressure than those who take about 60 milligrams or vitamin C a day. 240 milligrams of vitamin C a day is within the safe limits according to the doctors and the scientists.

Nowadays a heart patient and a patient suffering from hypertension are suggested to take vitamin and mineral supplements if he can not get the vitamin from the natural sources in his food. These vitamins and minerals are vitally important to prevent heart failure and stoke and to keep it working fine.

But it is important for everyone to first consult a physician and advisably a heart specialist and let him determine what vitamins and minerals you might be needing. It is certainly not a good idea to decide by yourself to start consuming vitamin C or any other vitamin without consulting your doctor. You might have some other problems and taking excessive amount of these vitamins might cause more trouble than help.

Vitamin A, vitamin D vitamin b-complex – all these are also prescribed to be consumed in a moderate level to help patients suffering from hypertension. The vitamin-mineral supplement treatment for hypertension is very popular these days and almost all the doctors suggest it. It is natural and therefore safer than any drug can be. 500 IU Vitamin A the basic formula of vitamins and mineral consists of 4000 mg Vitamin C, 400 IU Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin B15, niacin amide, Vitamin B1, pantothenic acid, Vitamin B2, 300 mcg folic acid, 100 mg vitamin B6, 100 mcg biotin and 500 mcg vitamin B12.

More muscle activity of the heart it needs nutrients and that is supplied by the various vitamins. Beta carotene i.e. vitamin A works as an anti-oxidant and therefore is good for the heart. Vitamin C also helps in the conversion of cholesterol and this is a very good thing for the heart. Vitamin E strengthens the heart muscles and keeps it protected from various diseases.

As the heart stays healthy and active it helps to keep the blood pressure in control.

Those are only a few strategies of many to help you lower and even successfully take control of your high blood pressure. More simple yet powerful strategies and step-by-step instructions about what to do and how to do it right, you can find in a special report by Samuel Baron "Natural Treatment For Hypertension".

Diy Wedding Favors

Diy Wedding Favors

Are They Worth the Effort?

If you are the creative type then you are probably already mulling over the idea of making your own wedding favors. But is making your own really worth all the time & effort?

When you begin thinking about what you could make & the time it will take to make them, wouldn’t you be better off just buying them ready made? Making your own can be a good option if your budget won’t stretch to ready made versions & you know you are capable of making perfectly good versions yourself. However there are other considerations.

For instance, if you wanted to make your own cookie wedding favors, with packaging, fully iced & you have over 200 guests. You will need to consider a) how long will it take you to bake that amount of cookies.

Remember you will need to bake around 10% more than the number of guests to allow for any mistakes during icing or breakages; b) how long you can store them for before they go off; c) where can you store them & how many airtight containers will you need; d) how will it take you to package them all up, tie up the little bags & add your thank you tags.

Whilst that example was for cookie wedding favors, it is applicable to many other types of favor as well. So when you consider how long it could take you to get them finished is it worth all the effort?

Surprisingly, the answer is YES. Making your own can be fun & can offer you a distraction from other more mundane aspects of your wedding planning. Alongside this giving your guests something you have lovingly handcrafted makes them even more special & your guests will appreciate all the effort you have gone too.

If you still need some convincing, here are some of the benefits of DIY wedding favors:

Benefits of DIY wedding favors:

Making your own no matter how elaborate or simple can be a great excuse to get the girls around to help you out. Holding a wedding favor party can be a great chance for you to relax, have a few drinks & a gossip. It has the added benefit of getting all your favors made, packaged & ready in double quick time. So think about holding a get together one evening or even during lunchtime.

If you need to get your mother & mother-in-law involved in some aspect of the wedding then making the wedding favors could be an ideal solution. It is also a sneaky way to get them out of the way & leave you to get on with other things! In my experience they will be only too pleased to help & positively thrilled that you have asked!

Making your own is a good way to stay in budget. Because you are in charge of the design & the raw ingredients you can easily adapt the design to stay within your favor budget.

Weddings are all about personal touches & being a reflection of your style & tastes, so making your own wedding favors is a perfect way to get this across. It is often the little things that mean the most & your guests will no doubt be overwhelmed at the trouble you have gone to on their behalf.

DIY wedding favors are ideal for personalizing as you will determine the design, you can easily pick the style, shape & placement of your personalization. You can also personalize each favor to each guest, although I wouldn’t recommend it for a large wedding as it could take you years to complete them all! As a suggestion you could give each guest candies that are suited to their age group, for instance luxury liquor truffles to the adults, jelly beans for the children & others which may need to conform to certain dietary requirements. You could even provide low calories confectionary for the dieters amongst your guests!

So, really the choice is yours. DIY wedding favors, whilst time consuming, are well worth the effort & think of the satisfaction you will get when your guests open them on your wedding day!

Healthy Soup Recipes - Do They Taste Good

Healthy Soup Recipes - Do They Taste Good

The old fashioned soup stock made with bones and scraps of meat that grandma made sure was yummy. My mom used to make barley soup with a beef bone, and I loved it as a kid. In fact if you’re a meat eater, there’s nothing wrong with carrying on the tradition and throwing your own meat bone and scraps into the pot - especially grass fed - it has much better fats and composition than commercial feed-lot meat.

However, with awareness around reducing cancer, heart disease and other degenerative illness through lower consumption of animal products (source: The China Study), it doesn’t hurt to also enjoy soup with a meatless base. You’d be amazed at how delicious such soup can be; it is even enhanced by the Super Immunity™ Ingredients.

And if you’re already on or exploring a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle, you’ll be excited to know that the recipes in our ebook at this site have some of the best tasting broth you could find anywhere. Such rich flavors emerge from a pot of soup simmering with potent natural herbal oils, spices and vegetables, you’ll find your mouth watering just waiting for it to finish cooking and won’t be able to stay away from the pot.

They say the tongue has taste buds for salty, sweet, bitter and sour, and great chefs confirm, for a dish to be superb it must satisfy all these tastes. You will be amazed how soup broth made from these wonderful ingredients will contain all these flavors when you are finished cooking it.

We finish the soup off with hearty seasonings from the Orient, such as natural soy sauce, miso, Umeboshi plum vinegar and some added oil such as olive or coconut, to make a broth rich with flavor and depth. Now your greatest challenge will be to find a gracious and elegant way to serve such rich and delicious soup; with crusty bread and a salad, in your best bowls by candlelight or on a shady deck...there won’t be much leftover!

How To Start Your Own Weight Loss Program

How To Start Your Own Weight Loss Program

Remember there's more to you than meets the eye. You've got personality, brains, feelings... in short, all those things that make you, YOU. So why diet? After all, you're more than just a body, and things that really matter can't be measured on a scale. That said, there are some very good sound reasons for dieting.

After all, dieting is not just for weight loss or weight gain. No, the true meaning of 'diet' is in choosing foods and setting eating habits that will keep you healthy, strong, and feeling your best. It takes planning and dedication. It means setting goals and following through. But it doesn't have to be a chore. No, with the right tools it can even be fun ... especially when you start to see the results that you're looking for!

Before, choosing a diet, there are five extremely simple Steps, which if you really apply you will probably end up losing weight without even trying! Doesn't that sound interesting. Really No kidding ... try the following:

Step 1) Always sit down when you eat, preferable at a table. Don't eat while standing, walking, driving or talking on the phone.

Step 2) Don't read or watch television while you eat.

Step 3) Eat only when your stomach is empty. At least 3 to 4 hours from your last meal.

Step 4) Don't take a bite until you've already swallowed the previous bite. Obvious? Try observing people and you'll see them stuffing their mouths, which are still full. They probably talk at the same time! So, bite, chew, swallow, bite, chew, swallow.

Step 5) Don't eat when you're not hungry. No, I'm being serious and I know that this sounds stupid. For example when at home wait 5 minutes before taking second helpings. If you wait, you'll probably find that you're no longer hungry, whereas if you don't wait you could probably eat thirds! Remember ... Wait five minutes before taking more.

A good diet doesn't end when you finally reach your target goal. Maintaining good nutrition, regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle is a continuing process. Only this will give you the energy to face the challenges of your busy day, boost your self-image, and make you look and feel better.

And there's no feeling like the satisfaction when you achieve your goals by sticking to a sensible, healthy, diet plan. Besides, where would we be without food? Changing your diet to prevent or reverse heart disease, reduce your blood pressure, or to get the better of your diabetes and, naturally to reach your desired weight, is not just a matter of cutting out butter and eggs and counting the amount of fat grams you eat each day. For instance, most Americans get close to 40% of their calories from fat! This is twice the recommended amount if you already suffer from heart disease.

There are many misconceptions and confusion concerning fat these days, some seem to make sense, others are just plain dumb! Remember, concerning fat, several things are now known for sure. It is known that most of us eat too much fat and that obesity is a major health concern, increasing the risk for heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, back pain and cancer. It is also known that saturated fat, more than anything else, is responsible for increasing our cholesterol levels.

I know it's weird, but it's been found, ironically, that when people focus exclusively on eliminating cholesterol from their daily diet they may unknowingly move on to a diet high in saturated fats! Some people decide to become vegetarian, leaving out meat and eggs, but the salad dressings, nuts and peanut butter, for instance, do more damage than a lean steak! Message: be careful what you eat, you may be surprised.

A Good Natural Acne Treatment - Aloe Vera

A Good Natural Acne Treatment - Aloe Vera

The aloe vera plant has been used for centuries for its healing abilities and it's definitely good to use for acne problems.

Aloe vera has been proven to be a mysterious healing plant - scientists still don't know exactly how aloe vera works, but it is known that it is a very effective healing agent and has been used successfully to treat skin infections, skin damage, skin lesions, rashes, wounds, burns, scarring and digestive disorders.

Aloe vera is very soothing when used as a clean moisturizer for the skin - aloe is also an anti-inflammatory, which works well for acne, as acne is an inflammatory skin condition. Aloe is said to help strengthen the immune system, which further helps to fight the acne infection. Another benefit of using aloe vera for acne is that it reduces the pain and swelling of acne skin, and is also used to treat scarring of the skin, which is good news for acne sufferers.

I have personally used aloe vera pure gel to treat my own skin conditions - including acne and severe sunburn, and I can tell you from experience that aloe vera really does work, in fact, for me the results were truly amazing...the gel is very cooling and soothing and my skin started healing almost immediately. I can now see why some people swear by aloe vera as an actual cure for acne.

Aloe is generally very inexpensive and you can get aloe vera in a variety of forms - aloe gel, (pure gel is the best - no dyes or any other ingredients - just pure aloe), aloe soaps, aloe creams, aloe liquids and sprays.

Aloe is available in most stores in the skin lotions section, pharmacy, or sun tanning section. Aloe products are also available in natural food stores, or you can order a variety of aloe products online.

Another option is to have your own aloe vera plant and use the leaves for healing. You can either cut or break an aloe leaf open and use the pure gel inside the leaf on your skin.

Many people have had great results using aloe vera for acne, scarring, and other skin problems, so if you like the idea of natural remedies for your skin, aloe vera is worth looking into as an acne treatment.

6 Qualities Of A Good Domain Name

6 Qualities Of A Good Domain Name

Choosing a good domain name is crucial to the success or failure of your business. You may wonder how something so small and slight could have an impact on your business, but the best way to compare this is to think about how important location is to an offline business? If you do not have a good location, you are likely not going to get many visitors. The same holds true for a good domain name as well.

Here, you will discover the six qualities that a good domain name must have to ensure maximum success.

1.) Memorable

A good domain name must be memorable. Yes, we have the option of bookmarking a site that we enjoy; however, the hard truth is that many people do not take advantage of bookmarking. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that your domain name is one that is easy to remember and makes an impact.

It should be easy, memorable, and straight forward. Avoid complexity and it is usually a good idea to avoid initials in most cases. The only exception to this rule would be if the letters represented the website name or business and was still easy to remember.

2.) Short and Sweet

Twenty characters is the maximum that you should use for a good domain name, ten is even better. A long and complicated domain name is not going to help you. Your best bet is to keep it short and sweet. A great domain name is less than ten characters; a good domain name is less than twenty characters. A bad domain name goes over twenty characters.

3.) Be Choosy On Your Extension

There are several domain extensions available to you such as .com, .net, .org, .tv, .info, .gov and so on. However, some of these work better than others and are more memorable at the same time. It is important to understand that some extensions also have restrictions such as .gov is reserved specifically for government websites. The .com domain name extension is the best by far, because it is the most widely used.

The .net extension is the second best, but be prepared most people will type .com before they will .net if they cannot remember which extension you use. The type of extension you use might also have a bearing on the type of website. Some people have come to expect certain things when a particular extension. For example, .org is typically used by not-for-profit organization and educational websites. The .info extensions are generally used for informational websites.

4.) Spelling Means Everything

Having a difficult to spell domain name could cause you some trouble. Again, many do not even make use of bookmarks; therefore, if your domain name is hard to spell, they may end up at a competitor's website. A good domain name contains only words that are easy to pronounce, have a good combination of words or letters that are used in every day language, and does not contain foreign words that may be difficult to non-native speakers.

5.) Tells a Story

A good domain name should be descriptive and tell a story. In other words, when your visitors, customers, or potential customers see your domain name they should instantly be able to tell what they are going to find. For instance, if it is your business, a business name is good.

6.) Avoid Fancy Symbols

It is never a good idea to use numbers or hyphens within your domain name. Even if your domain name is memorable, many people will not pay attention to the symbols, which could lead them to someone else's website.

Setting Up A Home Gym

Setting Up A Home Gym

If you've made a New Years resolution to get fit one too many times without success, then perhaps it's time to consider a home gym.

Home: where the healthy heart is
There are many reasons why a home gym might be right for you. Memberships to commercial gyms can be expensive, not to mention the time it takes to get to and from their location each time you go for a workout. Having the gym right there at home can redirect hours of personal time back into your schedule each week.

Of course, there are pros and cons to having your own gym at home. Firstly, you have to be self-motivated to actually get up and use it; otherwise the initial set up fees will be wasted. And speaking of set up fees, the initial investment in a home gym can be a little daunting for some, but remember that good quality equipment will end up saving you loads in the long run. This is especially true if you share the equipment with a partner or flatmates.

It goes without saying, of course, that to have a home gym you have to have the space for it. Keep in mind that some weights equipment in particular can be heavy on flooring, so you will have to consider whether or not your space can take the load.

If you do have the space and are keen to get going, then the greatest advantage to a home gym is that you can be the boss of it. You can work out when you feel like it, listen to your own music, or even wear your most beaten up clothes if you like. And you will never have to wait in line for equipment again.

What will you need?
What equipment you choose will depend largely on what you like to do when you workout. There's no point investing in a treadmill if you hate running or the latest in weight lifting gear if that's not your thing. You might want to consider some lightweights, an elliptical trainer and leave enough floor space for a yoga mat.

Perhaps you want to set up your own home gym to do more serious weight training. If this is the case, then consider flooring very carefully. A good hard surface, like the concrete flooring of a garage, can be great, but you will probably need to add some rubber matting as well to reduce noise and potential damage (to both floor and equipment).

When choosing equipment, avoid the infomercial and head straight to a shop that specialises in fitness equipment. They often not only stock reliable products, but also have the staff with the know-how to back them up.

For those on a budget, you need not relegate the idea of a home gym to your wish list only, but instead can deck a room out with minimal equipment that will get you good results. Choose to put your money into a good cardio machine like an elliptical trainer (which is lower impact and works both legs and arms) or a treadmill. Be careful when purchasing cheap equipment that may break easily, be of poor quality or may not be enjoyable to use.

Treadmills are a good example of this. Cheaper versions tend to be unstable and harder to run on. Choosing a model that is wide and long enough for you, that also has good shock support for feet, ankles and knees, is essential to ensuring you train safely.

Home gyms can be one of the most rewarding and convenient ways to achieve your fitness goals, and with the right planning, you can have an economical gym right there at home in no time.

Simple Anxiety Attacks And Stress Management Techniques For You

Simple Anxiety Attacks And Stress Management Techniques For You

That means to say, negative emotions like anxiety, despair, grief and sorrow makes the individual susceptible to illness and diseases. Yes, they do not directly cause illness and disease, but for what they do to the body (such as lowering the body’s immune system) they become a bigger cause of illnesses.

The body’s fight or flight response (the root of stress) is an emergency measure that’s both vital and valuable to survival. The only problem to this is that compounded experiences to this emergency measure can be damaging as it is very disruptive. It creates emotional dysregulation, releases catecholamine hormones that inhibit several bodily functions.

These functions would include inhibition of gastric and digestive function, thereby lowering one’s intake to needed nutrients; constriction of several blood vessels in many body areas, thus lowering its function; lessening tear gland and salivatory gland function, thus hampering the body’s ability to fend of diseases, releasing chemicals on the muscles in preparation for muscular activity, which could become toxic when not used up.

Individuals in deep anxiety will experience several health debilitating factors, like loss of appetite, severe headaches that could lead to migraines, inability to sleep that would lead to insomnia, inability to process thought fast due to constriction of blood vessels to the brain.

Because stress bought by anxiety had become a common modern man’s affliction, there are several anxiety attacks and stress management techniques that have been developed. Here are some of them anxiety attacks and stress management techniques.

Time Management = Stress Management

One of the most common root problems of anxiety in a workplace is the surmounting task with no way out. Approaching deadlines but with yet a lot to do, such situations causes anxiety which won’t really help in the speeding of the work. One of the timeless stress management techniques is time management. Stress of this kind is often curable with the satisfaction of a work done and effective time management always equate to effective stress management.

Being Happy

One of the best anxiety attacks and stress management techniques, the best vaccine to any diseases is the general feeling of well being. That is being happy. Take time to ask yourself: What can I do now to be happy? Indulge on those pleasures, singly or socially, as long as it generates within you a feeling of happiness.

Laughter is still the Best Medicine

It is so trite that it had lost its meaning a long time ago. Still, laughter is the best medicine even if psychologically. Find ways that can make you laugh; it allows you to spend energy while promoting a positive outlook in your life. Laughter can be your best anxiety attacks and stress management techniques.

What Is Stress Management

What Is Stress Management

Understanding the core factors in producing stress takes you closer to eliminating it. But while the most common conception of stress takes into account something we all know, experienced and recognize, then the definition we know of stress management should be obvious –except that it isn’t.

So what your definition of stress management? We define it as our conscious knowledge of things that effect stress and the methods to divest stress harmlessly out of our body system. It is also a set of techniques that professionals do to help us in coping up with various kinds of stress. Furthermore, we can also say that it is an equipping of knowledge, a conditioning, or a change of lifestyle that allows only the most minimum instances where stress can actually set in.

Before we start, what is stress? Stress is a nervous system reaction of your body towards certain stimulus. This nervous system reaction could be easily viewed as an unconscious preparation of the body for a certain activity, like for instance releasing adrenaline chemicals onto your muscles whenever you feel alarmed, for example triggering auto response duck and adrenaline rush quickness on the muscles as you hear and process a gunfire shot; or else shutting down some of your pain receptors while you’re in a fight.

The problem with stress response is that it also triggers psychologically. Anxiety of approaching deadlines, nervousness over the outcome of a completing project, surmounting unpaid bills, or the nervous anticipation of any event, any situation that’s going to happen in the near future may trigger stress response. Over time, these repeated stress experiences can severely deplete energy which could be used instead to other health functions like digesting meals, functioning body defense system, and such. And because stress response, especially to feelings of anger can also trigger those auto response that shuts down blood on several areas, these other blood-oxygen deprived areas can result to a number of illnesses.

Returning on track, the definition of stress management is a system that is aimed to reduce stress and/or facilitate the person to cope up on these instances. Because stress fall into a complex assortment of emotions and sources of them are even more profuse, the definition of stress management had become so broad, but all of them are aimed to relieve stress and divert these energies elsewhere harmless, and sometimes, even productive. All in all, the definition of stress management falls into three categories: action oriented stress management, emotionally oriented stress management, and acceptance oriented stress management.

Strategies For an Online Job Search

Strategies For an Online Job Search
By Thomas Richardson

Finding a job used to be a very slow process, but this has drastically changed with the advent of online job search boards. Rather than waiting for the Sunday newspaper to find good jobs to apply for, you can now set up an account with a multitude of online job search agents and have hundreds of leads delivered to you inbox daily. This article will show you how to properly put together an online job search that is efficient and effective.

Online Job Search Strategy - Step 1: Get Your Profile Online

The first step in conducting your online job search is preparing electronic copies of your resumes and cover letters. The major online job boards allow you to create a free profile and upload as many targeted resumes and cover letters as you like. Putting your job search documents in an electronic format makes it super easy to distribute them to potential employers quickly. Once you have put your resume in an electronic format, it's important to upload it to as many sites as possible. Most importantly, make your resume "searchable" or public to employers. This way when an employer runs a search for specific keywords, your resume will show up without even needing to apply for the job.

Online Job Search Strategy - Step 2: Set Up Automated Job Search Agents

The major online job search sites offer a fantastic automated feature - emailed search results. You can create a free profile that will bring daily leads to your email address. When you create a job search agent, be sure to use as many relevant keywords as possible relating to your field. Don't just use the title of the position you are looking for, include synonyms and related words to increase the chances of finding leads you are interested in. For example, if you are an accountant, don't just search for "accountant." Instead put together a large string of related keywords, such as: "accountant, accounting, general ledger, finance, financial reporting." You may end up seeing jobs that you are not qualified for, but it's better to have too many than too few.

Online Job Search Strategy - Step 3: Managing the online application process

It can get pretty cumbersome to manage the application process once you have multiple emailed search agents created. To keep yourself focused, you need to have a good process for organizing the leads. I like to use the daily job application organizer that you can find at JobSearchPower.com. By keeping a list of jobs you are interested in you can be sure you are following up properly on each job you apply for.

Finding a job online can be much faster and easier than using a newspaper and regular U.S. postal mail, but it can also take up a lot of your time. By putting your materials online in an electronic format and using automated job search agents, you will be able to quickly find and apply for the best jobs available

Our history is aligned with the past of wars. The ingenuity of man in the arts of war has started the creation of many of today's modern protective body armors. Bulletproof clothing is just one of the most popularly used body armor of today. The practicality of the use of body armor such as bulletproof clothing in ballistics is excellent when it comes to personal protection. Not only does a good vest protect against firearm projectiles buy also against explosives and knives.

During the middle ages, an Italian named Filippo Negroli was a known to be knowledgeable in fashioning steel. His skills were commissioned by the Duke of Ubino. Together, they have marked the production of the very first kinds of bulletproof clothing. However, the vest's heaviness and restriction to movements made their especially designed body armor become a problem rather than advantage during war. Together with the minds of other people who contributed well in the evolution of modern bulletproof vests, man has eventually created a selection of bulletproof clothing in which police and security officers and soldiers in war stake their life on while participating in special tasks and operations.

Today, there is a variety of bulletproof clothing to choose from. Much of them are custom designed to fit the level of security and protection demanded by law enforcement a job or people of status in the society. Police bulletproof jackets are the most popular forms of bulletproof clothing. Custom made on request and measurements, many of these vests are sold to the US government and police stations across the nation. Because having curves sometimes become a problem in the fitment of vests, the Ladies' bulletproof jacket line was issued. These vests are custom made for women and is tested to offer the highest standard available for body armor.

Military bulletproof jackets are those specifically designed for combat operations. Concealable bulletproof jackets are very much similar to those you see worn by the characters in action films. They can be worn underneath civilian clothing and has served as a valuable means of protection for people working in a surveillance team or people in a police undercover operation. Executive vests are those worn by people of high societal status, such as politicians and company CEOs, for security reasons. Also, since police forces are using K-9 units, K-9 bulletproof vests were also made available for the four-legged law officers.

Many of the people who use bulletproof clothing works for the private or government law enforcement agencies and by people whose work puts their line on the line. The efficacy of these protective vests has long been proven. As a safety article, the government dictates stringent quality assurance in the production of these vests. Many other non-government organizations have been established to also monitor how well the manufacturers reproduce duplicates to their government-approved bulletproof clothing prototype.

At a minimum cost, investing on bulletproof clothing and electing to wear it is a way of ensuring life particularly in areas where crime rates are so high. Anyone in plain clothes will surely get serious injuries from explosions, firearm projectiles and from slashing knives. US Treasury Unclaimed and Missing Money Owed to Americans

US Treasury Unclaimed and Missing Money Owed to Americans
By Russ D Johnson

The bursting of the real-estate bubble brought about a storm of problems that hit the U.S. like a super-typhoon. Seemingly invincible Wall Street juggernauts came crashing down gasping. Detroit's ailing Big Three triggered a wave of factory shut-downs and lay-offs that started a wave of job-loss and homelessness across the county. Other businesses have been downsizing as well and it doesn't seem like things are going to improve soon. In fact, the economic quagmire has spread to Asian nations like an unstoppable virus and financial experts can only sit back watching helplessly.

A depressing number of American families are still losing their homes up to this point and the wave of recession is slowly creeping inwards from opposite coasts. All but a miniscule percentage of the US population has been affected by the economic crisis that just turned global and people are struggling just to keep meals on the table. To say people are desperate for cash would be a gigantic understatement. Unknown to most, there is a way for Americans to get their hands on some easy money. It's not a sure-shot deal mind you, but it's not a scam either. I'm talking about lost money belonging to people and businesses that have lost track of their finances through bad addresses, file mix-ups, oversight or what have you. Yes, a large portion of the American populace are actually richer than they think they can find missing money from state unclaimed property quite easily.

The National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators is an organization that represents the Unclaimed Money Bureau of each State and tries their best to protect and help Americans find their missing money from lost assets. The NAUPA's definition: "Unclaimed property (sometimes referred to as abandoned) refers to accounts in financial institutions and companies that have had no activity generated or contact with the owner for one year or a longer period. Common forms of unclaimed property include savings or checking accounts, stocks, uncashed dividends or payroll checks, refunds, traveler's checks, trust distributions, unredeemed money orders or gift certificates (in some states), insurance payments or refunds and life insurance policies, annuities, certificates of deposit, customer overpayments, utility security deposits, mineral royalty payments, and contents of safe deposit boxes. "

Contrary to what one may think, it's quite easy to find missing money from financial assets that have been lost over time. Remember that we're in the information age and most of our transactions can be done online now. Finding unclaimed money at the click of a mouse is just one of the pluses that come with the times. True, the increasingly fast pace we're living our lives these days makes it easier for us to lose track of our funds, but it can be just as easy to get it back providing the proper methods for an online unclaimed money search are used.

Surprisingly, only a few of the millions of people owed state unclaimed property are actually trying to find missing money through the net. The $33 BILLION national unclaimed money pile is evidence of this. During times like these, that's quite ironic as multitudes of people in the U.S. are in a financial bind. The problem may lie in lack of public knowledge and proper search methods. Finding out how to do an expert unclaimed money search- know where, when and how to look can put much needed funds in citizens' desperate hands.

Unclaimed property (sometimes referred to as abandoned) refers to accounts in financial institutions and companies that have had no activity generated or contact with the owner for one year or a longer period. Common forms of unclaimed property include savings or checking accounts, stocks, uncashed dividends or payroll checks, refunds, traveler's checks, trust distributions, unredeemed money orders or gift certificates (in some states), insurance payments or refunds and life insurance policies, annuities, certificates of deposit, customer overpayments, utility security deposits, mineral royalty payments, and contents of safe deposit boxes." Examples of the latter can be anything from currency, assorted jewelry, family heirlooms, antiques and mementos. Unclaimed money in the U.S. Treasury is kept for safekeeping by most states until the rightful owners come- be it 10, 100, or 200 years, but tangible items from safe deposit boxes are auctioned-off each year due to lack of space in the unclaimed property vaults. Though family valuables may be forever lost on unclaimed money auctions held on eBay, the proceeds from the auctions are still claimable as a cash value and buyers on eBay get great deals from auctions held by the Treasury.

The amount of U.S. Treasury unclaimed money varies per state. New York, California and Florida have the biggest amounts at $8B, 6B and $2B (yes, the "B" is for BILLION) respectively. All 50 states in the United States are holding onto some amount of unclaimed funds or physical property belonging to residents, and the unclaimed property accounts are growing because most owners don't know that they're owed cash from their lost assets. All it really takes for folks to find their lost money is to learn how to do an online search properly. Within minutes, you may find you might be rich and didn't know it.

Unclaimed money and property expert Russ Johnson has been assisting Americans in finding their missing and unclaimed money online since 1997. His sites are UnclaimedMoney.net and MissingMoney.TV which are updated regularly and are guaranteed official searches

Money Talks For Students

Money Talks For Students
By Robert Grazian

It does not matter what walk of life you come from... money talks. If you are moving into a new neighborhood, starting a new job or meeting people just about anywhere, they are all interested in what you work as and really, how much money you have. There are idealists all over the world who would claim otherwise, but even they would have to admit, that in the majority of circumstances this is the case.

Not everybody feels that the amount of money or material goods that you have is important. Those who do not worry about the way that other people view them with regard to money will no doubt still accept that they are in the minority. Imagine moving in to a new house and getting to know the neighbors. If you arrive with a battered old car and a few old belongings, you will soon be viewed as being not very well off.

Some people will feel sympathy for you and some will put you on a lower social rung of the ladder than themselves. This could make you feel excluded from neighborhood life and make you feel inadequate. When it comes to first impressions, money talks louder than ever.

As we grow older, we often become more confident in who we have become. Unless we have been particularly unlucky, we have usually had the chance to orchestrate our lives to a degree and will hopefully be fairly pleased with where we have reached. As children and teenagers, however, this is not always the case. Often you will find a youngster, and teenage years seem to be worst for this, who feels the need to compete in a materialistic way with their peers. This peer group pressure is often financially biased.

It may show itself through clothing and wearing the acceptable designer clothes and shoes. In an adolescents world money talks as it is believed that being able to afford the latest in clothes and gadgets will bring friendships and thus happiness. Often they are correct in their thinking, if only these friendships could last! All too often relationships that are based on financial success can dwindle as soon as the finances dwindle. True friendships would outlast any hardship which meant you having to wear a slightly more economic brand of jeans!

This is quite normal and natural behavior in an adolescent. However, if this continues into adulthood it may bring with it a host of problems. Although money talks, it can sometimes say things that we do not want overheard. If you are unusually wealthy within a social group you may find that you suffer from being distanced by some of the members of the society.

Some people find money difficult to accept in others and you may come across some resentment. Money can be the root of much evil and jealousy and envy are very strong personality traits which often bring outspoken feelings. Even if you have worked hard to earn the financial security which you are now enjoying, if it is considerably greater than that of others in your social circle, you may find yourself alienated.

Money talks, it is true. It is up to you to make sure that it talks quietly and thoughtfully and does not shout to much!
